Generational differences in technology familiarity, communications styles, attention levels and information priority can make efforts to impart knowledge to officers across the spectrum of career tenure extremely challenging.

In this important program, Lon Bartel, who is Certified as a Performance Enhancement Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and the Director of Training and Curriculum for VirTra and Jim Glennon, a highly recognized national trainer and Calibre Press’s Director of Curriculum will discuss:

  • Teaching vs. training…what’s the difference?
  • Blended learning: What is it, how does it work—does it work? —and who does it work for?
  • Are your training methods meeting the expectations of younger officers?
  • Tips for dealing with the “Why?” generation.
  • Why failure in training is a good thing that shouldn’t be avoided.
  • The differences between “Growth” & “Performance” mindsets
  • Pursuing success or avoiding failure: What is your agency really doing?
  • How top athletes can improve officers and training programs.
  • The three C’s: Competence = confidence = calm.
  • Pros & cons of Interleaved & Block learning.
  • Do younger officers really learn differently than older officers?  Understanding—and accepting—different generational learning styles.
